I take great pride in presenting a report on the functioning of Sri Sathguru Sangeetha Sabha and Sri Sathguru Thiagabrahma Aradhana Trust during the year 2011 – 2012.

The most celebrated event of the year, the 165th Aradhana festival of Sri Sathguru Thiagaraja Swamigal was held for 4 days from the 10th to 13th January 2012. The festivities commenced with the traditional Unchavrithi Bhajan and a stellar array of events followed, finally concluding with the Anjaneya Uthsavam at Kodiyalam Seshadri Iyendar Kalyana Mandapam, Srirangam, Trichy.

The event was a grand success, which exemplified the dedication of the organising committee and the uninhibited co-operatoin of truly devoted bakthas, rasikas, musicians and great philanthropists who contributed whole-heartedly towards the noble cause. The Unchavrithi, Dhivyanama bhajan, daily abhishekams to the icon of Sri Sathguru with Mahanyasa Rudrajapam and the Aradhana rituals were conducted with spiritual fervour and traditional authenticity, rendering a divine aura to setting. The music concerts held during the festival were well attended by bhakthas and music-lovers and the sublime presence of the Almighty and Sathguru was almost tangible to all attendees at the events.

As every year, this year too, the Aradhana proved to be a magnificent commemoration of the ancient conventions laid down by the founding fathers of the Sabha. The ceremonial opening with the Unchavrithi, was followed by Divyanama Bhajan and Guru Aradhana. Our rich religious heritage was gloried with the conduct of kanya Pooja, Suvasini Pooja, Dhampathi Pooja and Vatuka Pooja.
